About Us

On December 4, 2020, our lives changed forever. While on a family vacation, a car struck and killed our children, 6-year-old Addie and 4-year-old Baylor. Though our time with them was short, they made a difference in our lives every day. To preserve their legacy we have created the Addie & Baylor Kirchgessner Foundation.

Our Mission

We believe that through tragedy, beautiful opportunities unfold. We believe in honoring Addie and Baylor by bringing love, help, and laughter into the community. In doing so, we want to encourage children’s imagination through access to literature.

Our Impact

We raise money, collect books, and provide other resources and supplies for students and schools in our community. For every $6 donated, a child will receive a book.

What We Do

We are dedicated to providing children access to rich, diverse, and interesting books to help them grow and foster a passion for reading. We believe equitable access and early exposure to literacy can help reduce the achievement gap before entering school.
